We have two huge reasons to celebrate, so we're throwing a party!!

Reason One:  826 Seattle won the 2011 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities.  Executive Director Teri Hein and our youth mentor, Meron Kasahun, traveled to Washington, D.C. to accept the award from First Lady Michelle Obama. This prestigious award is all thanks to you: our community, students, parents, teachers, volunteers, supporters, and friends. Let's raise a toast!

Reason Two: We just released our 2012 anthology, What to Read in the Rain, a collection of writings from well-known Northwest authors and the best of our student work. Dave Eggers, Barbara Thomas, David Lasky, and some of our amazing student authors will be reading from the new collection. Books will be available for purchase, and featured authors will be on hand to autograph them.

We hope to see you there!
