Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in helping 826 Seattle. Since most of our programs occur during weekday mornings and afternoons, we are looking for volunteers available during those times. We do have occasional openings for weekends and evenings, and we contact potential volunteers as those opportunities arise.

Application Process

Volunteering at 826 Seattle involves five steps:

• People interested in volunteering should complete and submit our online Volunteer Application.
• We will contact you with the date and time of the next group orientation. These generally happen once a month in the evening.
• At the orientation, we will describe our programs and the different volunteer opportunities we have. You will have a chance to tell us what you would like to help us with. We will ask you to fill out a background check form.
• We try to match each volunteer to an appropriate opportunity, although we can’t guarantee placement.
• We will contact you when we’ve found a match.
