Our second anthology of work produced by Hamilton International Middle School students explores the theme of family.

This inventive anthology of comics by middle and high school students is the result of a series of comics writing workshops taught by local artists David Lasky and Jessixa Bagley.

Our final collaboration with John Marshall Alternative High School, which closed its doors in June of this year, is a poignant collection of stories on the theme of “happiness,” which are often far from happy.

Our first of two anthologies this year with the students at Hamilton International Middle School. For the last five months, 826 Seattle volunteers and staff have been working with the teachers and students at Hamilton to get these stories on paper and the results are hilarious, heartbreaking and inspiring.

Complied from summer workshops and our writing contest from last year, these stories are a little slice of the Pacific Northwest as seen through the eyes of 826 Seattle students.

Seattle comic book artist David Lasky taught a comics class in the spring of 2007 to a group of 12 to 17 year olds and the results are simply spectacular. Eleven students are published in this collection of comics about family.

The students of John Marshall Alternative School, 47 of them to be exact, are published in this anthology on the topic of change. The audio CD features some of the students reading their work. An 826 Seattle publishing project, February-May 2007.
