After-School Tutoring

We offer tutoring, homework help and writing enrichment clubs throughout the school year. Trained volunteers, many of whom are professional writers, are here to help with individual writing projects and all kinds of homework including math, sciences, and foreign languages.

Come to write, read, research. Yes, we are a writing center, but we also typically have at least one math tutor on site during drop-in tutoring sessions, and we try to accommodate the sciences, foreign languages, and other academic needs.

After-school tutoring and homework help are available Monday-Thursday, 3-6 p.m., throughout the school year based on the calendar of Seattle Public Schools. High school only tutoring is currently on Mondays from 6-8 p.m.

Students can also join us if they simply need a welcoming place to do homework, to read a book, use our computers for Internet research, or work on their own writing projects (perhaps for publication in an 826 Seattle anthology or the Student Work section of our web site).

So, now that you want to register

To get started, all students must register with us. You can register in person or print and complete the registration form. Have a parent or guardian sign it and mail the forms to us at:

For Parents and Guardians

If we feel students are being disruptive, we may have to ask them to leave.
Everyone is welcome for after school tutoring, but due to space constraints, we accommodate students on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We are a writing and tutoring center, not an alternative to childcare for young children.
Parents/guardians are responsible for getting their children home.
Daily tutoring ends promptly at 6 p.m.; high school tutoring ends at 8 p.m.
