The Mustache-A-Thon – the annual follicular fundraiser for 826 Seattle – is underway. I have answered the call to arms and am growing a mustache for charity. I need your support to assure that my mustache is a fundraising heavyweight!

826 Seattle is a nonprofit writing center that helps students, ages 6 to 18, develop their creative and expository writing skills. We are dedicated to providing students with access to writing workshops, publishing projects, and one-on-one help with homework and English language learning – all free of charge. Let’s be frank: nothing goes together like rock’n’roll and mustaches. From the hirsute Frank Zappa to the flamboyant Freddie Mercury, from Spinal Tap’s Derek Smalls to Motorhead rock god Lemmy Kilmister, rock musicians have never been shy about adorning their upper lips with mustaches.

Not only do I want to be counted amongst the ranks of these rock legends, I also want to help raise money and awareness for my favorite non-profit writing and tutoring center – 826 Seattle. To that end, I am growing a mustache as part of the Third Annual 826 Seattle Mustache-a-Thon. I (and my upper lip) need your support!
